Hi,
My issue is 'similar' to Riggins above.
I live in Florida and we just moved into a new home and when it rains the converted screen room is SUPER LOUD and radiates throughout the home making watching TV and conversation nearly impossible.
The roof is, I believe, a 4"insulated panel that Patrick mentions above. Both upper and lower skins are thin aluminum that are attached to the soffit via a 'C' channel just beneath the drip edge. The top of the panel has been tied in with an 18" strip of flashing that goes under the asphalt shingle, spans the joint, and is screwed off to the top layer of the panels throughout the addition, (36').
I was told by a buddy that I can just use some roofing adhesive, (he specified Wet-R-Dry), and glue new matching shingles to the metal roof until they mate with the main roof.
Is this really a viable answer?
Will the panels hold the weight?
Thank you in advance for any insight..

Gluing shingles is not correct application or an option.
If you wanted to put some plywood over the roof and then attach the shingles that way, that is an option.

Thank you Eric.
Will the panels hold the weight of the shingles plus the plywood and underlayment?
Is there any other viable option to reduce the noise other than shingles?
