I am having a serious ice buildup on my metal roof. Pitch of roof is about 3 degrees - at most. I am getting ice blocks that curl over the roof edge with icicles that grow into the windows. The ice blocks are up to a foot thick and weigh thousands of pounds. I have been using a tree cutting saw on an extension to cut the blocks of ice down. Very scary and dangerous. What can I do to stop the ice build-up on the roof edge? thanks for any suggestions.

My general answer would be to increase attic ventilation. However, I realize that your situation might be more complex. If you're interested, email me roof pictures (without the ice) and then give me a call and we will talk this through a bit. Todd Miller Tel. 1-800-543-8938 ext 201 [email protected]
