Are all metal roofs the same weight or thickness?

I'm in the process of getting bids on a granular spanish tile style metal roof, think it's called Continental. Are there different grades or weights in this style that I should be aware of. Are all brands going to be the same grade and type of metal or are there differences from one mfg. to another in the style I want. What questions should I ask about this when talking to the roofing contractors? I live in the Puget Sound area of Seattle and want a roof that will withstand the salt water air. Thanks, Teresa
