My husband and I are getting ready to install a metal roof on a house we just bought. We have purchased new trusses and the metal sheeting. We have been told so many different things concerning what to screw the metal into. We have been told to use plywood, 1x4's, 2x4's, foam insulation and no insulation. Our duct work runs through the attic and I don't know if that will make a difference or not. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!

Most "sheet" roofing does require solid decking and underlayment for installation. It is very important, before you start installation, that you receive full instructions from the manufacturer of your roofing.
