Metal Roof Over Old Style Metal Roof

I have a very old metal roof on a cottage. One contractor sugested I put a new metal roof over the existing metal roof. Any thoughts on going this way?? Bill W.

It is feasible but it depends heavily upon the profile, metal, and fastening of both the old roof and the new roof. Here's what you need to do -- bring this question up with the manufacturer of the new roof and get their approval before proceeding.
