I am interested in putting aluminum shingles on the roof of a cottage on a spit of land that juts out into the ocean. It is subject to harsh winds and salt spray. Are aluminum shingles a good choice under such conditions? If so, I would love to know of any suggested brands, and if you could point to where they provide for such conditions in their guarantee, that would be very helpful.
Thanks,

Aluminum has probably the best resistance to salt water for the money. Two of our member manufacturers make aluminum shingles that I know of. Classic products and ATAS. Lokk them up under our members section and contact them. As an association we do not comment on specific guarenteees so you need to discuss this with them directly.
