Is there an advantage of having the installers cut the metal sheets during installation vs. getting the sheets cut prior to arriving on-site? Different installers are pitching this as an advantage over others so I would like to know if there actually is an advantage.

Thank you. Certainly there can be a lot of freight cost embedded in shipping finished panels. There's also always a chance for error and getting panels that are not the correct length. That said, in-plant machines are often larger machines which can produce heavier panels with less chance for oil canning. Machines that are trailered to job sites also can go out of adjustment and run inferior panels. However, certainly, lots of very good, quality panels are made on job sites. I would look a lot at the quality of the metal and the coating on the metal. Also, be sure that you understand what warranties you're getting and who is standing behind the warranties.
