Looking for guidance on an acceptable amount of scratches on a new metal roof insulation ? Also the ridge cap overlap coverage ?
I have one galvaum panel with 5 scratches down to bare metal. Then I have 5 separate panels side by side with a scratch in the same exact position on all of them. I have dimples on the standing seam and some sort of marking on the end of a panel.
The ridge line has places where the metal is 3or more inches from the ridge and the ridge cap is only 5 inches wide. The job is in progress still.

Some scratches are unavoidable during installation unfortunately. I do suggest using touch-up on scratches on steel roofs that appear to be all the wya through the coating. As far as the ridge, there should be some sort of closure on the ends of the panels beneath the ridge cap. It looks like the plan is for that to be a Z Closure which will be well sealed. Once this is done, the exact length of the panels will be irrelevant. I hope this helps.
