Trying to get opinion on an in-progress installation of standing-seam metal. Replacing architectural shingle after hail (house is about 3 years old). The roof has always had this sort of odd overhang (see wide shot), but trying to see if the approach they took is really quite right for that area? I can imagine a cap there would trap water, but also this feels a bit unfinished (tight shot)? Any thoughts on if this the right approach, or if not, what would be?

I can't see exactly what was done behind the hip cap but overall this does not look like a bad approach to a tricky situation.
