We wish to paint our old corrugated metal roof on our barns to prevent rust. One barn was built in 1910 and still has the original roof. Other farmers usually use asphalt aluminum paint over the old galvinized metal. Do I want the fibered or non-fibered aluminum paint? Working with new metal roofing, which utilizes new technology coatings and finishes, I really do not know. Your coatings supplier should be able to help with this. Additionally, a Google search for something like "metal roof restoration" will result in several different types of products and processes you may wish to consider.
