TOPIC: Installation

Ridge to sidewall flashing

Return to Installation

Return to Forum

Hi,

I have a garage that I will be installing metal roofing, exposed fastener type 36" wide similar to "Pro Panel II" or "Pro-Rib, or "Tuff-Rib" etc.

I have done several asphalt roofs but new to metal. I would be happy to hire this out to a pro but it is in a remote area with few resources and years-long waiting list.

I have read manufacturers' installation guides and also the metal roofing industry reference manual, but still have a question I can't quite figure out. None of the many details shown in the guides explain what I have.

The roof has two sections, the back roof goes up 8-1/4".
My concern is this area where the roof steps up.
For along the rake, I believe I would use side wall trim (lower roof) and rake trim (upper roof).

The ridge part I highlighted is where I need to know what specific pieces are needed and how to install. Any help is appreciated!
