TOPIC: I Have An Existing Metal Roof and Have A Question

Metal panels slid down roof 3-4"

I noticed four of my standing seam metal roof panels slid down the roof 3-4". What would cause this? what does it take to fix it?

My contractor tried to hit them back up into place and they would not budge. I'm worried about them sliding down further. Can I screw the panels down? Would screwing them cause an expansion problem?roof1 (2).jpeg

Normally the panels are pinned at the top with fasteners that prevent the panels from sliding. I am concerned with these panels having slipped down that water may get under them from the top. It might be good to ask them to remove the ridge cap, get those panels back up into place, and pin all of the panels with concealed screws along their top edge.
