I just had this standing seam roof installed. The area under these eves seem overly complicated and the flashing seems excessive. Don’t know why the flashing bends around the corner to the face of the house. I am in Florida. Can anyone tell me if this looks correct? I have driven around and never saw any other roof done like this.
Thanks for looking
These can be problem areas. You have the water coming down off the higher roof slopes and you need to keep it away from the wall intersection. They also may have been dealing with an existing flashing against the stucco that they did not want to disturb if they could help it. I do not know exactly why they did what they did but I would not say that it wasn't the best option for a difficult, problem-prone area. I am a little concerned about where the water is being direct as it comes off the upper roof slopes and out of the valley and making sure that water isn't getting trapped into a narrow panel area or something. I'd suggest talking these things through with the installer and making sure you are all comfortable with what's been done.
Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it.
