TOPIC: I Have An Existing Metal Roof and Have A Question

Metal Roof Insulation

Return to I Have An Existing Metal Roof and Have A Question

Hi, I have a 30x30 post frame pole shed that is metal walled and metal roofed, the walls are insulated with double faced rigid foam board with a radiant barrier as one of the faces, my question is what is the best way to insulate the roof to avoid condensation and heat loss. (the building is metal roofing over purlins) The shop will also be heated with an outside vented 75Kbtu unit heater.

You probably should have insulation and also a complete vapor barrier against the roof panels. The easiest way to achieve this would likely be closed cell urethane spray foam sprayed to the back of the roof panels.
