I am bidding a large maintenance garage metal rehabilitation (1976 construction). The metal is in great shape and integrity has been restored with minor maintenance. We have tremendous condensation as the original interior vapor barrier (and insulation) are shot. We plan to insulate the exterior and would like to go with a generic modified bituminous roof specification. Where can I get one that won't be product specific or slanted? I will also remove the interior and then prep and paint the inside. I must public bid. Bruce R. The roofs integrity and condition are very good. It may be presumptuous to assume an exterior insulation system is the correct choice for rehabbing a high metal roof that is heated and has more condensation problems than anything else. We added mechanical ventilation improvements last year, but outside air is not the solution. If a new interiror system will work I would certainly look at the costs of going that way.
