Hail dented metal roof

This past April 2019 we had baseball size hail. Our 10 year old 26 gauge metal roof now has lots of dents. Allstate insurance adjuster says all cosmetic, no structural damage. What would be the best contact for a second opinion? Thanks.

I am sorry to hear about the hail storm. This has been a tough Spring for severe weather. It sounds like you signed the cosmetic damage waiver with your insurance? That may be a tough thing to get around. I generally do not suggest signing the waiver. One option that may be beneficial is to hire a public adjuster to come look at the damage. Some roofing companies have public adjusters on staff as well. A public adjuster will likely do the best job of fighting the denial.

Thanks Mr. Miller, appreciate the advice. Composition roofs here are being replaced left and right.......everybody is getting a new comp roof. I haven't seen any existing metal roofs in our neighborhood being repaired/replaced.

Our roof is "U" panel and I'm wondering if new "U" panels can be overlaid on the old dented "U" panels? Thanks.

Thank you. I would not install nested over the old panels. It may be feasible though to use battens horizontally over the old panels and install the new over that. The new roof will be less hail resistant but there would be some energy efficiency from an installation like that.
