TOPIC: I Have An Existing Metal Roof and Have A Question

Siding contractors screwed in foot holds

Return to I Have An Existing Metal Roof and Have A Question

We are having our siding redone. Today when I looked out the window I saw they had screwed in pieces of wood to secure their footing! There are now screw holds. They still have a few days left on the project and it may rain.
What do we do about these screw holes?!? Can the contractors be held liable? We are stressing because we have spent a lot of money to get this work done and can’t even think about paying more to fix our roof that was fine before the work started.

This is a metal roof they did this to? If so, then do not allow them to do this any more. Contact your metal roof installer and have them come help the contractor access the roof, and figure out how to make repairs to the roof.

+1.

Sometimes its tough to get pump jacks up on the metal, but there are ways that do not involve screwing holes in the roof.
