Is sheathing/osb required when installing a metal roofon new construction?

I've seen condensation building/dripping. From rafters without sheathing with this type of installation .

There are some metal roofs which can be installed without decking. However, I never suggest that for residential applications. That said, other keys to avoiding condensation with any roof system other than those installed over conditioned spaces include vapor barriers, insulation, and ventilation.
