TOPIC: I Have An Existing Metal Roof and Have A Question

metal roof (old steal)

I have old metal roof sheets from a barn built in @1909. I was hoping to build raised-beds for my garden from these sheets, but I am concerned if their "red" paint might be lead. The sheets are attracted to a magnet, so I believe they are steal sheets.

No way of knowing shy of having a lead test done. Sorry. If the paint is pre-1978, it very well may have lead in it.
