We are planning to re-roof using 0.040 Aluminum, standing seam, snap-clad/ snap-lock. My husband wants to use stainless steel screws and clips, but this is a considerable extra expense. Is this extra expense for SS necessary or of that much value, if we are going to use aluminum panels? We live on a canal, 2 blocks from the Atlantic, South Florida. Thank you.

I recommend using stainless clips and screws. you are already doing an upgrade, now is not the time to scrimp.
