Ridge Cap Sealant

Return to Installation

Return to Forum

I have a new Snap Lock metal roof on my house. I have a concern with the way the ridge cap was or was not sealed. Is tape sealer installed under the z-closure required to properly seal the ridge or is it optional? We have been told that it is an either or situation...either you install tape sealant between the panel and z-closure OR you run a bead of roof sealant behind the z-closure after installation. Thank you for your time and information.
