TOPIC: Copper Roofs

min pitch for hand made copper shingles

My contactor suggests a handmade copper shingled roof. What is the minumum roof pitch for hand made copper shingles with 180 bend out two sides, & 180 bend other two sides by smacna standards? Thanks Mike

Unless you are going to solder the seams, I would not go less than 3:12. There are, by the way, pre-formed copper shingles which can be used down to 3:12. If the seams will be soldered, you could probably go as low as 2:12 or perhaps 1-1/2:12. Good luck. Todd Miller
