Metal roof overlap

Return to I Have An Existing Metal Roof and Have A Question

I just had a metal roof installed on my new home. I have attached a picture of an overlap of metal coming off an eave line that looks pretty bad. Roofers stated this was the only way to install it without having leaks. My question is there another way to install the galvalume without a seem line off the eave?

Hi Jross, Thanks for your question about metal roofing. I think you are asking about the panel end lap at the bottom of the valley. I tend to agree with how this is flashed. The end lap ensures water can go from the upslope panel onto the valley flashing and then onto the panel down slope. Regards, David David Stermer
