Can I reuse hog confinement roofing on house

Hi I live in Iowa and my question is how well would reusing metal roofing taken off hog confinement building and putting on my house work? It's in really good shape but I am wondering if same type of metal is used as house metal roofing and also am concerned would it smell like hog confinement since it was installed on one? I can easily get enough to roof my house for no cost and am in need of new roof asap so hoping this would work. If anyone has any insights of positive and negatives on this topic please share. Thanks in advance!!

As long as it is in good condition, it can probably be done. Metal roofing comes in a wide range of qualities and of course I have no way to comment on the quality of the product you'd be re-using. Typically, application has no necessary correlation to quality.

Do you think it would hold smell from hog confinement or any other concerns like that etc?

As long as it has been washed clean of any obvious contamination, no, I do not think it would.

You are taking the metal roofing off of the capital....? Just a bit of Sunday humor.

It sounds like it is galvanized steel sheeting... Turn it upside-down and let the weather treat the smell (if any)
