Chimney

My chimney is split at the ridge. I am putting in Ultra Seam US-175, 18" panels. The width of the chimney is 19" Should I split a panel to start this section of roof with a ~10" panel so the seam is in the middle of the chimney? Thanks much! ~David

The biggest thing you want to avoid is a very narrow sliver of roofing panel extending up alongside the chimney> you're fortunate with it being at the ridge but I would avoid any slivers of 3" or less. Todd Miller
