Can a metal roof be placed on a 25' x 50' flat roof and tied into a normal existing roof ( built in 1969)? This addition to the house has tar & rolled roofing, which was applied in early 1996. The rolled roofing is cracking and my insurance company says I have to replace it at my expense.

Most residential metal roof styles require at least a 3:12 roof pitch. Some industrial style metal roofs or hand-formed and soldered metal roofs can be used on lower pitches, down to 1/4:12 in tpically.
