Venting attic for whole home ventilation

I want to have whole home ventilation and I need to vent exhaust air, approx 12 sf of vents , And do not want multiple small ugly roof vents . Is a vented ridge cap the best way to go?

To be honest, a vent straight through the roof to direct the air would be best. Dumping all that warm or cold air in the attic, depending on the season, is not ideal. Is there a way to have a stove pipe type vent to push the air out through? Eric Novotny

As long as your roof has decent pitch and the roofing material you install is compatible with ridge vent, that sounds like a good way to go. Todd Miller
