Noise from roof panels

I constructed a Florida room using 3 inch foam structural panels and the noise is more than I anticipated. I am considering the installing 1 1/2 rigid insulation and the 3/4 purlins with 3/4 insulation in the opposite direction with metal roof panels as the finish product. Sometimes unfortunately insulation can also transfer sound. I would suggest trying to get a small air gap worked into the assembly for sound attenuation. I would not eliminate the insulation, I'd just add a small airspace as well.
