choosing coil vs premade

I live in florida coast. Decided on a aluminum metal roof 0.032 standing seam. That was easy --so confused with different contractors and their explanations-- don't know which one to pick 1) Roofer buy aluminum coils and make site specific standing seam panels at site. They would use polystick TU plus underlayment . Would do redecking with plywood as needed 2) Buy standing seam from Englert and install them . They would also use 80 mil peel and stick underlayment. Which one should I use -- is the one who makes panels on site called mechanically seamed? Is that one better vs buying panels from companies directly? Is sentriclad aluminum or gulf coast supply part of mra ? thank you

Both will work. Need to know more about the coil that roofer 1 is specifying. Eric Novotny

OK this is what the roofer said. Install concealed fastener, .032 aluminum standing seam metal panels – standard color, Kynar finish at residence . Panels are nominal 16" wide, 1.5" standing seam rib. Install .060 white TPO on flat roofs. Tear off tile roofing. Nail off roof deck to code. 8D ring shank nails. 4" - at the joints, 6" field. Any plywood necessary @ $50/sheet labor and material. Additional woodwork at $50/man-hour plus materials. Install peel and stick underlayment. Use site specific engineering for this project. Install metal roof panels manufacturer’s specifications, code and engineering using stainless steel clips and screws. Install new drip edge metal, cap and flashing necessary for a complete metal roofing system. Install custom vented ridge, same metal as roofing. Install .060 TPO on flat roof areas. Provide coil manufacturer’s 30-year material warranty, installer’s 5-year no-leak warranty. Cleanup, permit included. Was thinking of using coils from englert. What else should i ask the roofer thanks for the reply

Sounds pretty comprehensive. Did they give you a manufacturer on the coil? Depending on the pitch of the flat roofs, the metal can be adapted to work in those areas as well. Eric Novotny

They said either sentriclad, gulfcoast or engelert. Thinking of going with engelert. Thanks for your reply
