Snow guard design requirements

Hi, We have a galvanised corrugated steel gable roof (galvalume I believe) which was installed on our residential property two years ago. I am looking for design recommendations for snow guards to prevent accumulated snow and ice from sliding off in large slabs onto our neighbours property with obvious risk of serious injury. There is nothing in the local Building Code regarding minimum design requirements, nor does the City of Toronto have a bylaw governing snow guard requirements. Is there an industry code of best practice which defines optimum snow guard design in terms of either/or snow guard specifications and placement? Many thanks in advance for your assistance with this.
