Shoe or boot non-skid

What is the best type of shoe/sole to wear during installation?

Michael, Thanks for your question. I have found clean rubber soled shoes to work well. Foot traffic on metal roofs should be kept to a minimum as shoes tend to pick up dirt and debris which can damage the paint finish. If there is to be much foot traffic, you should consider a protective walking surface such as 2x lumber laid on the roof or a commercial grade walking surface that attaches to the ribs. Safety-wise, one should always take advantage of fall protection when on a roof, in accordance with OSHA requirements. Regards, David Stermer
