I have a doublewide I am thinking of putting metal roof on. One roofer tell me he will remove old shingles and put back metal. Cost more. Another tells me he will leave shingles, put down a plywood and metal over. Cost Less. Which way should I go. Less sounds good to me. If it will work.

Depending on the system and application, metal roofing can be installed over existing roofing systems. As long as both are qualified roofers and the proposed system is certified by the manufacturer to work in that capacity, either it fine.
