We have a house with a standing seam roof and during heavy rains the rain overpowers the 6" gutter system and pours over the entry. Is there a retrofit diverter system available?

There is nothing specific to standing seam roofing in regards to this. Generally, there isn't anything about a metal roof which would cause this problem although, with standing seam, it is possible that the combination of your roof geometry and the pane lay-out is such that a lot of water is coming down in a narrow spot and overwhelming the gutter. Splash guards can be custom made and attached to the gutters if desired. This is done with gutters and all types of roofing. Also, I am sure you already thought of this but things like clogged downspouts or inadequate downspouts as well as gutters that are mounted too low or with too little slope can cuase this as well.
