low slope metal roof perpendicular to shingles w/ differnet pitch

I am an architect with a residential client who wants me to use a standing seam metal roof, 1:12 pitch, that will run perpendicularly into a 4:12 shingled roof. I cannot imagine how one would flash this valley considering the wind, snow and rain in our climate. Can anyone help?

This can be flashed but the critical thing is making sure the standing seam is a mechanically seamed standing seam. The transition flashing needs to start fairly high on the roof so as to maintain a positive pitch. If you wish, email me direct with any drawings you have and I can sketch a transition flashing, [email protected]
