Large gaps

This is transitsion from roof panels to valley. The panels were very crudely cut and large gaps are left. Is this correct? This is a low slope roof with a 2/12 pitch using a standing seam metal roof.

A lot of the flashing work does not look bad ... and many folks will use this method rather than cut into the chimney. I'd prefer to see the flashing cut into the masonry but this method can work. As far as the panels, I wish they would have been folded around a cleat in the valley rather than left open like they were. Todd Miller
