I am building a cabin with 2'x4' skylights on 2x6 curbs in a 7/8" wave profile metal roof.
Can anyone direct me to detail drawings of the correct way to flash the skylights?
I am especially interested in the right method at the head flashing that will prevent water backing up under the metal sheets and does not rely to heavily on caulking.
thank you,
Derek

I can't strongly enough recommend to contact the manufacturer of the roofing and get their recommendations.
Lay the roof sheathing out so that you start centre on the skylight if possible.
Cut one sheet from the eaves to 12" past the bottom of the skylight.
cut pieces of sheets up each side of the skylight overlapping the bottom shett and past the shylight 4", bending the sheet up against the curb and uner the skylight counter flashing. These pieces should extend past the top of the skylight 2 feet. Form a flat sheet of steel into a pan across the top of the skylight extending past each side 4" bedding it in sealant and ensure that it bends up to the top of the curb. Then istall a sheet from the skylight up to the ridge leaving the sheet 4-6" short of the skylight and the seal the gap with a profiled closure. Seal the corners and fold the 4" extensions back over and install the light. Good Luck.
