Replacing a slate roof with metal

Hi, I am considering replacing the 100 yr old slate roof on a Vermont Gambrel with a metal roof. Would you advise metal tiles that replicate the look of the existing slates or standard seem or a mix of the two? Re the latter, on one side of the main house there is a mud room and bath room and on another a porch both of which have asphalt shingles.

Thank you for considering metal roofing. One of the beauties of metal is the wide variety of available products. An experienced metal roofing contractor should be able to review your home with you and help you arrive at some good options to consider. Increasingly, though, I am seeing people mix multiple roofing materials on individual homes.
