TOPIC: Installation

Insullation or Not?

Return to Forum

I have a large cinder block building (30’ x 60’) with a hip style corrugated metal roof(no ceiling), no roof vents or air-conditioning, just ceiling fans, open windows and a door. The building is being used for church services on Sunday mornings and it gets very uncomfortable around noon time. My question is this, should I insulate or not? What can I do to make it more comfortable, recognizing that I do not plan on putting in any type air conditioner.

A closed cell spray urethane insulation applied to the underside of the roof deck would be very helpful. Todd Miller
