When putting on metal roof the button caps under the metal are showing thru... Any suggestions on how/what to put under metal to prevent denting of metal.... the button caps is holding the blue paper/vinyl onto the plywood. The pieces that have been put on looks like it's already been thru a hail storm. We don't want our metal siding to look the way the roof does.

I am not sure there is anything that can be done. I would need some additional information before I can make a recommendation. Are the button caps properly seated? What gage and type of metal was used? What type of panel was supplied? Standing seam? Exposed fastened? Modular? Feel free to contact me at [email protected] Dick Bus

The button cap nails used for underlayment don't typically print through unless you are using a very light gauge metal. What did you use as Dick posted above? If you are going light gauge, than you should probably just use staples in stead of the button cap nails. Eric Novotny
