What does "mechanically seamed" mean? Thanks

Some standing seam product require a seaming tool to attach them together. Some are manual tools, but most are powered, thus 'mechanically seamed" Other types of standing seam are snap together. The pitch of the roof is the most important factor to consider when selecting a mechanically seamed (less than 3/12) vs a snap seam (greater than 3/12). Dick Bus
