I am installing a new standing seam roof using 28" wide 30 gauge Terne metal. What is the standard height of the bend on each piece of metal that are to be seamed together? We are using a double turned seam. Is it necessary to bend the companion panel 1/2" shorter so that when the first seam is made the longer side is bent over the shorter one?
Thanks for your help.

First off is to contact the manufacturer of the panels for their recommendations. I do not know off hand of any 28" wide 30 gage Terne SS roof systems. It sounds as if you manufacturing the panel yourself and if you are how do you plan to run the seamer on it? I would need more info before I can help.
