I am looking for details of a dormer cap transition to the main roof. How do you seal both valley with the cap of the dormer.

It depends much upon what type of metal roof you are installing as well as what types of trims. Generally though the valleys should be mitered together and go up under the higher main roof. The ridge cap should either cover the miter or lock into the valley. Todd Miller
