Should you be putting insulation under the metal roofing in a cold climate? This is a re-roof job taking off 4 layer of reg shingles and new sheeting.

In most cases I would say not. This is a great time to make sure you have good attic ventilation to help avoid ice damming though. Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have more questions on this though.

The necessity for insulation and ventilation types completely depends on the layout of the home, attic type, construction. Do you have a picture of the home or a description. Todd is 100% right in that you absolutely will want to be proactive now and address the insulation and ventilation requirement prior to investing in your new roof.
