We are getting a metal roof. Since roof panels are bumpy and the ridge vent is flat what keeps bugs from getting into the attic space in the little gaps created at the ridge vent? (and at the base of the roof panels for that matter?) Thanks, Keenan

There should be some sort of filter, mesh, screen, or perforated holes which allow air and moisture to vent out but discourage insects, snow, rain, etc. That said, there is always a chance something could get in but it should not be a major problem. Make sure that product is appropriate for the application and installed correctly.
