Rain and dormers

Hi, I have a long stretch of steep roof (60 degree pitch) above a dormer. My concern is that rain water will be running quite quickly by the time it reaches the valley flashing of the dormer ... naturally it would curve a wide arc before running off perpendicular to it's original direction. I'm worried that water will force it's way between the valley flashing and the roofing panel overlapping it. How can I prevent leaking under the dormer panels?

I am about to replace cedar shingles with UltraVic panels (exposed fastener).

I would contact the manufacturer and see if they sell a diverter that fits that profile that can be installed on an angle to move rain water away from the valley. Eric Novotny
