Should Copper roofs have gutters in high snow load locations?

I have a home for sale and the buyer wants gutters installed. I've seen some serious issues with snow load on roofs if the snow doesn't "go" anywhere. This is standing seem copper roofing material. Inthe elevation of this home, the snow DOES NOT MELT til spring. Wouldn't this cause undue stress on trusses? What about gutters? Thanks! Tam

If all the snow comes down at one time it could dislodge the gutters, adding snow cleats to the copper roof should help with this problem.

If it was built to code, it should be able to handle the weight. If you use gutters, I would strongly suggest lining them with heat tape so they do not build up with ice and snow.
