By "seamless," I am assuming you are referringt o standing seam panels which run vertically in complete lengths from ridge to eave. Metal thickness is just one component of a successful system. Product design and panel profile are other factors. Manufacturers of these products will tell you which of the combination of metal thickness, design, and profile they offer meet the building code requirements in your area. Typically, steel products will be 24 or 26 gauge, aluminum will be from .032" - .040" and copper will be 16 ounce. Again, though, there are other variables which go into creating a successful system.
