I'm having a concealed fastener metal roof installed on my home and noticed something that does not seem right. The roofer is using a ridge vent that utilizes, (what looks to be self made), z bar flashing that just has about twenty 1/8 inch holes drilled in it. From my calculations this does not even come close to meeting venting requirements. Has anyone ever seen this before? Any thoughts appreciated. BTW, the roofs are 10/12 pitch, new construction trusses with 1/2 osb. The interior spaced are conditioned and mostly vaulted. There is vented aluminum soffit in place. Photo of "vented" flashing attached.
