I have clearstory window that need washing/ will walking on the metal seamed roof, damage the panels or weaken the screws? 2. If installed over original decking (50 years old) and 1 layer of asphalt shingles; what underlayment should I use? There is presently some roof leaks, so I can depend on the original roof to prevent leaks.

There are proper techniques for walking on any metal roof. The type of roof will dictate the walking procedures. Installation and underlayment should be used in accordance with manufacturers specifications. I prefer synthetic underlayment in lieu of asphalt felt. Where are the leaks?
