Metal roof over plywood - Shed roof

I'm building a shed/playhouse and was planning to cover roof with shingles, so I installed 1/2" plywood with 30# felt. I've changed my mind and am going to install metal instead. Someone told me I need to put down vertical lathe strips to allow underside of metal to drain/vent. Do I need the lathe, or can I put the metal down directly over the plywood & felt?

Always adhere to roofing manufacturer instructions but right off hand I would say you can go over the plywood and decking.
